Plateau Club of Chhindwara joined the oldest club of the state. Plato Club is a hundred years old.

Let's know how Plateau Club got its name-

Some old people say that due to the Chhindwara district being situated on the plateau, the name of the club was Plateau. It is also believed that this club was named after the famous philosopher Plato. In the initial phase, the membership number in the club was twenty-four, which gradually reached beyond a hundred.

Plateau Club, the center of indoor and outdoor sports activities, has turned a hundred years old. In the year 1919 at Badwan near Shukla Ground in Chhindwara, the club was privately established by four families as a private limited firm. Later this club was registered with CP and Berar Vidarbha and later Bhopal and Jabalpur.

In its long journey of hundred years, Plateau Club has brought laurels to many sports talents. Due to which the glory of players, club, and Chhindwara have increased in the sports world.

In the year 2019, the players and members celebrated the centenary year of the club. Under which sports activities were organized. The centenary year was made memorable through competitions.

When no one knew the games, the Plateau Club brought recognition-

In the city and district, when no one knew the games like lawn tennis, table tennis, snooker, billiards, and bridge, etc. At that time the players of Plato Club used to be the champions of CP and Berar. It is said that the Plato Club was earlier known only for the bridge. In this game, the players here have earned a name in the entire country including the state.

Club Boy also reached the national level competition-

Before the establishment of Madhya Pradesh, the players here used to dominate in CP and Berar and Vidarbha. In billiards, the players here were in the number one and two positions. The special thing is that not only the player, Club Boy also earned a name at the national level. Anil Kahar, who worked in the club, proved the iron of the game in the competitions up to the national level.
