History and Details of Satpura Club Chhindwara 

 Satpura Club was the center of sports and entertainment of British officer

Satpura Officers Club located at Khajri Chakkar Road was established during British rule. The club was established for the SAF was established near Kundali and the officers of the military camp established in Jamunia. Also, the club was established for the entertainment and sports activities of the British administrators of that period.

From the very beginning, the club has been the center of officers' activities. Billiards, badminton, table tennis, lawn tennis games along with gym facilities are present in the club. Bridge games were also played here. Even after the independence of the country, the club is reserved for officers only.

The Collector and SP are ex-officio presidents and vice presidents of the club. The secretary has been an ISS officer. According to tradition, the present system is the same. JP Singh is currently the senior-most member of the executive committee of the club since 1973. While the total membership of the club is more than one hundred and fifty.


Earlier, class 1 officers were club members-

The first-class 1 officer used to be a member of the Satpura Officers Club. Later, the club membership also started to the class 2 officer. The first-class 1 officer used to be a member of the Satpura Officers Club. Later, the club membership also started to the class 2 officer. With the consent of almost all the members of the executive committee of the club, there is a provision for non-government members to be included in the club.

President of Pakistan has also been a member of the club-

It is said that the President of Pakistan Ayub Khan is also a member of the Satpura Officers Club. It is also said that the PWD officer, secretary of the club of that period, also recovered him during the Indo-Pak war in 1971. Although there is no authentic mention of it.

Now the club building is being rejuvenated-

The building of Satpura Officers Club, which is more than a hundred years old, is now being rejuvenated. The sheet is being replaced in place of Kavelu of the British era. A new gym is being constructed with 2 lawn tennis courts. A new boundary wall is being constructed. There is also space for the construction of a coffee house on the campus itself.
