        About 50 years ago in 1970, the film "Tere Mere Sapne" was shot in the Koylanchal area of the district. This film starring evergreen actors Dev Anand and Mumtaz was a super hit. The scenes of the film were shot in various places in the district including Newton Chikhali, Khirsadoh, Bhimsen Ghati. The movie "Tere Mere Sapne" was released in 1971.

    The shooting of the film in the Chhindwara district has a history. The first shooting of the song Jeevan Ki Bagiya Mehkegi from Devanand's film Tere Mere Sapne was made in the year 1971 at Dongar Parasia in the district. In which Mumtaz was the heroine. After this, a few years ago, Prakash Jha, the producer of the film Chakravyuh, filmed some part of the film in the Matkuli forest of Tamiya.

The film unit came in October 1970 for the shooting of the film "Tere Mere Sapne" under the direction of director Vijay Anand. Here the film was shot at Newton Chikhali mine, hospital, primary school as well as at places like Bhimsen Valley, Khirsadoh College, etc. This place was very much liked by all the people in the film. At that time people used to gather to get a glimpse of Devanand and Mumtaz. The memories of the shooting of this film are still in the heart of the people of Chhindwara district. Devanand and Mumtaz were accommodated in the houses of the Chikhli township of Newton.

The set of Parasia station was prepared in Newton for a scene from the movie "Tere Mere Sapne". Devanand played the role of a doctor and Mumtaz as a teacher in the film. It was shot at Newton Hospital and Chikhli Kala School. There is a scene of an accident in the mine in the film, it was filmed in the mine of Newton. The owner of this mine was Mr. Chanchani. The song "Maine Kasam Li" was shot in the valley between Newton Parasia. The song "Jaise Radha Ne Mala Japi" was also filmed on Mumtaz. A comic song on comedian Agha was also shot in Koyelaanchal itself. Apart from this, the song "Jeevan Ki Bagiya Mehkegi" was also shot in Newton Chikhali. Brief information about Devanand-

Dharamdev Anand, popularly known as Dev Anand, was born on 26 September 1923 in Gurdaspur, now in Narowal district, Pakistan. His father's name was Pisori Lal Anand, a well-known lawyer of Gurdaspur. His mother's name was Shekhar Kapur. Dev Anand completed his schooling at 'Sacred Heart School', Dalhousie. He obtained a bachelor's degree in English Literature from the Government College Lahore. Dev Anand's brothers, Chetan Anand and Vijay Anand were also successful directors in Indian cinema. His sister Sheel Kanta Kapoor is the mother of famous film director Shekhar Kapur. Dev Anand achieved that height as a Bollywood actor, which is not possible for everyone to reach. He was a very successful artist, director, and film producer of Indian cinema. His father Kishorimal Anand was a lawyer by profession. The Indian government honored Dev Anand with the Padma Bhushan in 2001 and the Dadasaheb Phalke Awards in 2002 for his contribution to Indian cinema. Dev Anand died of a heart attack on 3 December 2011 at 10 pm in London.

Brief information about Mumtaz-

Mumtaz was born on July 31, 1947, in a middle-class Muslim family. She was born to Abdul Salim Askari, a dry fruits vendor, and Shadi Habib Agha. They got divorced just a year after his birth. Both his mother and aunt were junior artists. Her younger sister is actor Mallika who was married to wrestler and Indian actor Randhawa. He was the younger brother of wrestler and actor Dara Singh. Mumtaz settled in Britain after marrying a businessman of Gujarat origin named Mayur Wadhwani, a resident of London. Mumtaz started working in films at the young age of 12. Mumtaz also acted in about 16 action films, in which she was paired opposite Dara Singh. About 10 films of both also proved to be hit. Mumtaz had kept the dream of becoming a star from the junior artist in her mind, which she made come true with her hard work and dedication. Mumtaz became a star in the seventies. Rajesh Khanna affectionately called him Moti. Devanand used to affectionately call him Munji and many people used to call him by his nickname Mumu. Mumtaz has received the Filmfare Award and the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award for her contribution to Hindi cinema.
