Where today Chhoti MLB, earlier the Zilla Parishad and District Offices used to operate.

The Chhoti MLB Kailash Nagar School building on Narsinghpur road used to be the office of the Zilla Parishad about twenty-five years before independence, later the Janpad Panchayat office was also operated here. This is the reason why Chhoti MLB Kailash Nagar School is also known as Janpad School.

The foundation stone for the construction of the building was laid on seven November 1931, when the then Deputy Commissioner started the construction of the building. It is said that Lala Jagannath Prasad Jaiswal had built this building. In the year 1932, the Zilla Parishad office was established here, headed by Lala Jagannath Prasad Jaiswal, the Zilla Parishad office operated here for about fifteen years.

With the independence of the country, this building started being used as a Janpad Panchayat office. For many years the work of the Janpad continued here. Later the Janpad office shifted from here. Later the Home Guard office was also operated from here.

Girls School was established here on twenty-eight September 1987. Being the second girls' school in the city, the number of girl students was more since the beginning.

In the year 1998, the school got the status of Higher Secondary, since then the school is being operated continuously, later the school was expanded by constructing some additional rooms.

The building will now be saved as a heritage. Kailash Nagar Girls School is now being developed as a model school. A building of G plus three will be constructed for the proposed Girls Model School. For which tender for construction of building costing 4.56 crores has also been started. The same old building i.e. the present building of the Girls School will be preserved as a heritage.
