Chhindwara got new recognition from the Chhindwara Institute of Medical Science Chhindwara.
CIMS Chhindwara-
Institute of Medical Sciences is a government medical college. It was established in the year 2019. It is known as Sims Chhindwara. This college offers the degree of Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS). Nursing and para-medical courses can also be done from here. It is affiliated with the Madhya Pradesh Medical Science University and is recognized by the Medical Council of India. Selection in the college is done based on the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET).
Government Medical College, Chhindwara is a college and institution in Madhya Pradesh. The institute is affiliated with Madhya Pradesh University of Medical Sciences, Jabalpur. MBBS is approved by the Medical Council of India (MCI). Government Medical College, Chhindwara runs with the approval of the Medical Council of India / Dental Council of India under the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.
District Hospital Chhindwara has 426 multi-specialty beds, they are being upgraded to 600 beds. Due to this more patients will be able to get beds easily and facilities will also increase.
Chhindwara Institute of Medical Science will meet the health needs of the community in and around the Chhindwara district. It also aims to conduct epidemiological studies, surveillance, and monitoring of diseases prevalent in Chhindwara and adjoining districts.
Construction of building for Chhindwara Institute of Medical Science has started, a total of 1523 bed hospital is being constructed in Chhindwara. It is being constructed on about 42 acres of land. The government of India has proposed to establish New Medical Colleges to promote and enhance Medical Education as well as to minimize the shortage of doctors in the country. Under this scheme, it was proposed that the Government of MP will establish a Medical College at Chhindwara for 100 M.B.B.S students admissions annually.
During the Congress Government, Chhindwara Institute of Medical Science was built rapidly but after changing the government, the pace of construction work seems slow.
After it is built, the people of Chhindwara and surrounding districts will not have to run to Metropolitan Cities for treatment. Like AIIMS, CIMS will have facilities for the treatment of critical illnesses. From CIMS Hospital, Chhindwara will get a new identity.
Along with the Medical College, there will also be a Nursing college and Paramedical college. There will be a super-specialty facility for Cardiology, Neurology, Neurosurgery, TB chest, Burn, and other critical illnesses.
The helipad will be built on the roof of CIMS. There will be an air ambulance facility. There will also be a Dharamshala and Guesthouse for the patients' families to stay.
It will be the largest hospital in the state in size and type ever.
CIMS also has an 800 seater auditorium built.
Studies have also started in Medical college.
Apart from Madhya Pradesh, students from outside states are also studying here.
CIMS has completed construction of the building, classroom, lab hostel girls and boys residency, dean bungalow, library, auditorium, and many types of equipment.
In the memory of the late Mahendra Nath, grandfather of Nakulnath and father of former CM Kamal Nath, CIMS was gifted a 6 crore rupees MRI machine by the Nath family.
This MRI machine has been installed in the district hospital. After the installation of the MRI Machine, people of the district will no longer have to race to other Metros including Nagpur.
