 The Favara Chowk has been renamed Mahatma Gandhi Chowk 


The new Mahatma Gandhi Chowk of Chhindwara in a new form, a new statue of Gandhiji installed at Fawara Chowk. The statue of Mahatma Gandhi, already located at Fawara Chowk in Chhindwara city, has been shifted slightly back. The new statue of Mahatma Gandhi was installed by the Municipal Corporation Chhindwara at Favara Chowk. Due to shifting the old statue back a little, the square has started looking wide. The new statue of Mahatma Gandhi is very attractive. Plants have been planted in very beautiful pots around the statue. The fountain is also built. With the installation of this statue, the fawara chowk has been renamed Mahatma Gandhi Chowk.

Mahatma Gandhi came to Chhindwara-

Mahatma Gandhi came to the Chhindwara district of Madhya Pradesh twice during the freedom fight. Mahatma Gandhi attended the Nagpur session of the Congress in December 1920. After this, he reached Chhindwara on January 6, 1921, at around three o'clock in the afternoon. The Civil Disobedience Movement began in 1921, right from Chhindwara. He was accompanied by the revolutionary Ali brothers. Mahatma Gandhi came to Chhindwara for the second time in the year 1933. Both these occasions were very special for Chhindwara city. Mahatma Gandhi held the first assembly of the non-cooperation movement in Chhindwara.

The Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi was born on 2 October 1869 in Porbandar, Gujarat. The full name of Gandhiji is Mohan Das Karamchand Gandhi. A dhoti in the name of clothes on the body but rich in heart, who stick to his word but the priest of non-violence, due to these qualities India as well as the whole world bowed before him. Gandhiji was first called by Subhash Chandra Bose as the Father of the Nation.
        Gandhiji has played an important role in getting India's independence. Gandhi was a prominent politician of the freedom movement. Gandhi was imprisoned for many years during India's freedom struggle. In 1893, at the age of 24, Gandhiji went to South Africa. In 1915, Mahatma Gandhi fought for the atrocities and civil rights of the Indian community in South Africa. Gandhiji took over the reins of the Indian National Congress in 1921. He led the Salt Satyagraha in 1930 and the Quit India Movement in 1942 and became very popular among the people.

The major movement fought by Bapu for the independence of the country-

Non-cooperation Movement-

He launched the Non-cooperation Movement under the leadership of the Indian National Congress from September 1920 to February 1922.

Salt Satyagraha- 

From 12 March 1930, a 24-day march was taken out from Sabarmati Ashram to Dandi village. This movement was waged against the British government's monopoly on salt.

Dalit Movement- 

He started the anti-untouchability movement on 8 May 1933.
Quit India Movement - Quit India Movement was started on 8 August 1942 during the Second World War.

Champaran Satyagraha- 

This movement was started in the Champaran district of Bihar in 1917. And this was his first political victory in India.

        On the evening of 30 January 1948, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was shot dead by Nathuram Godse at Birla Bhawan in Delhi. Seven people including Nathuram were found guilty of this murder.

Beautification of city squares

Encroachment and disorganized traffic at the main intersections was one of the city's major problems. Municipal Corporation Chhindwara started a left turn project to get rid of people from daily traffic jams. Under which first the private bus stand, Favara Chowk, and then the Indira Tiraha statue was shifted. Now it has been made even more attractive, grand, and beautiful, now there is a crowd of people to take selfies at these intersections.
